Going for a walk to assess agro-forest sites.

Tuesday, 6 March 2012

The first night, we slept across the river at Hugo's place. The following day we took canoes across the river for easy access to housing area.. It took 10 minutes. Our friends Bruno and Irena came with us for a walk across the land... There is fruit everywhere. I saw about 10 different fruits that are producing at the moment...

We are the first family to arrive on the land (Sam and Liz)... We thought we had 4 weeks to get the houses ready for the rest of the families, but it took 8 days to buy a 4x4 in Salvador. 2 Days to get fallen trees out of the way so we can drive to the land, 1 more day to get a path cut through the tall (and cutting) grass through the pastures to get to the river bank and the houses.... Finally we got there to assess the houses, and see what need to be done. We have 2 weeks until the next family gets here... Target Date: March 22nd 2012. Wish us luck...
